Golden Gate Highlands National Park

Golden Gate derives its name from the sunrays of the setting sun that casts a soft shade on the west facing sandstone cliffs and turns them into a glowing gold colour including the ever imposing Sentinel Rock. The first ever fossilised Triassic dinosaur eggs where found in the park at Rooi Draai in 1973.
11 600 hectares of unique environment houses a large variety of mammals – black wildebeest, eland, blesbok, oribi, springbok and Burchell's zebra - and birds, including the rare bearded vulture (lammergeier) and the equally rare bald ibis.
There is a Living Museum known as the Basothu Cultural Village situated in the park.

Ts'ehlanyane National Park

This is the largest National Park in Lesotho.

The park is located deep in the northern range of the Maloti Mountains at the foot of the Holomo Pass and only about 45 minutes on a good road from the South African border post of Caledonspoort (Caledonspoort is about 4 hours from O.R Thambo International Airport).

The National Park provides a picnic site at the day visitors area, a spectacular 39k hiking trail linking the Ts'ehlanyane National Park with the Bokong Nature Reserve, various hiking trails, great scenic photographic opportunities, day walks, bird watching, pony rides, rock pool swimming and small game viewing.
