The House of J.C. Le Roux, South Africa's first and leading cellar dedicated entirely to the art of making sparkling wine, is acclaimed for its passion, craftsmanship and expertise to make the finest vintage Méthode Cap Classiques in the time-honoured French style, and fun loving sparkling wines to suit every palate.

Named after the prominent French Huguenot, Jean Le Roux, the cellar is situated on part of the historic farm where he settled to grow vines after leaving his home in Normandy in 1704. Till this day The House of J.C. Le Roux bears testimony to the contribution made by this illustrious family in the picturesque Devon Valley outside Stellenbosch.

The first sparkling wine, a Sauvignon Blanc, was made at The House of J.C. Le Roux in 1983, followed by South Africa's first Pinot Noir Méthode Cap Classique in 1985. Another innovation in 1999, the country's first off-dry Cap Classique, La Valleé, has enabled many novices to appreciate the elegance and refinement of a Cap Classique.

In 2008, The House of J.C. Le Roux once again made history by becoming the first producer to win the prestigious WINE Magazine Amorim Cork Cap Classique Challenge with a rosé, the delightful Pinot Noir Rosé 2006.

J.C. Le Roux Scintilla, the flagship of the range was first produced in 2003. Created for the connoisseur in a stylish dark bottle, Scintilla evokes an air of elegance, beauty and sophistication, representing one of life's finer pleasures.
